Work in
this sector has mainly involved the refurbishment of existing offices to

Thistle Street Lane,
Edinburgh:
Before being a training school for accountants, this building was a
Victorian warehouse with brick
walls, timber floors and cast iron
internal columns. To convert it into
high spec offices for rent, the
lecture theatre occupying all of
what was once a rear court was demolished to create more
useable / valuable, naturally lit

cabling. Each floor of the 4-story building is capable of being let
separately although
only two tenants now occupy the entire building: one a leading legal
practice and the

The complete modernisation of a former grade A townhouse
(converted to an office decades ago) to provide
modern facilities, and to convert an under-used
basement into a luxury 3-bedroom flat. The office
accommodation is now occupied by an German Insurance Company.

Thistle Street, Edinburgh:
Formerly a Standard Life property, this 5-storey building
was acquired by our client for the purposes of upgrading and leasing it on
a floor-by-
floor basis. To this end the core has been re-planned with a new 10 person
reoriented
lift, new toilets, including a disabled toilet for each floor and a
revamped entrance hall.
The gross floor area of the upper floors is 2250 sq metres and the lower
ground floor houses parking for 20 cars and storage. A new ramp for
wheelchair access was
created on the lower ground floor. Two of the occupants have retained
McLaren Associates to assist with their respective ‘fit-outs’. Due for
Completion in May 2005. |

Originally a petrol filling station with garage workshop facilities, this
property was
up-graded to include a formal show room for second-hand premium cars for
the Longstone Motor Company. Facilities included new toilets and offices
within a new extension to the rear. Completed in 1998. |

The removal of some cellular offices
to create a large modern open-plan space. The formation of a new
entrance hall with
a new seating area and reception desk and the creation of new meeting room
on first
floor. Also rearranged toilet accommodation and a comprehensive
space-planning
exercise for the open plan office space. Completed in 1999. |
